Do you agree with polygamy?

Well, i was chatting with one of my friends which is currently staying in Yaman. I was so surprised when he told me that his dad just got married last month with the second wife.

This is our conversation:

"It was eligible for a man (muslim) to have four wives as long as he could afford it."

"@@ ... Why is it allowed?" I asked.

"The reason is very simple. World female population is more than male population."

"???"

Let's imagine, what happened if there would be more than four million females in a particular country that would not be able to get a husband?

If this is the case, sure there would be lots of free sex happened. It might be having sex without get married, homosexuality, children without fathers, etc. In muslim, free sex is prohibited. They could only allowed to have sex after get married.

That's why they have a concept, "love after marriage". Means they will start to love the person after marriage. Therefore, usually their partners were pointed by their parents.

In my culture, we will just get married after we knew well about that guy/girl. "Marriage after love each other". Therefore in most case, a person may have more than one relationship before they get married. (I do agree with this, by having more relationships, maybe we can know who is the best & get the right choice).

I completely disagree with polygamy. It's not fair for the woman if their husband remarried again with other girl. Can the love be equally divided for both of the wives? Sure, there would be lots of argument.

It would be much better if the man requested for divorce before he remarried again. Set her free so she can live by her own.

Sometimes i was thinking, why the woman can't have more than one husband? Maybe this would be fair for the woman if this is allowed.
